Therapy that makes room for your body, your story, and your choices.

I work with adults and couples navigating identity, relationships, life transitions, and the effects of trauma. As a psychotherapist, registered nurse, and somatic practitioner, I bring curiosity and respect for the experiences that have shaped you.

My approach connects conversation with body-based practices that support mindfulness and awareness. Together, we can explore what your emotions and physical responses are telling you, notice patterns, and build more room for meaningful choices. You do not have to treat every difficult feeling as a problem to suppress.

My work is decolonial and trauma-informed. That means making room for the ways culture, marginalization, and systemic inequities affect your experiences, rather than viewing them in isolation. My practice is BIPOC- and LGBTQIA+-affirming, and I value the relationships and communities that matter to you.

Above all, I respect your authority to define yourself and decide what matters in your life. Our work starts with your experiences and the meaning you give them.

EMDR training and therapy

I am currently completing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Basic Training through EMDR Institute, Inc., and welcome clients interested in exploring EMDR therapy.

I incorporate EMDR when clinically appropriate, within my scope of practice and current training level. During basic training, this work is supported by ongoing clinical supervision and specialized EMDR case consultation.

Education and approach

I hold a Master of Social Work from Howard University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trinity Washington University. My additional training includes Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga facilitation and 500-hour registered yoga teacher training.

My social work credentials are LGSW in Washington, DC, and LMSW in Maryland. These are supervised practice credentials.

Before meeting with Tamina, you will have a free consultation with Natasha Watkins, our Clinical Director, to discuss your needs and clinician fit. Select insurance-plan participation and private pay are available through the practice; coverage, benefits, and clinician participation vary by plan.
